Maintaining the connection between you and God

The Theory of Salvation postulates that God loves us and, because He loves us, He invites us to come back home to live our lives in eternal and abundant happiness with Him. The scientists who postulate the theory call this the good news of great joy. They argue that the good news of great joy has three (3) corollaries:

  1. We must accept the invitation if we want what is best for ourselves.
  2. After acceptance, we must ask ourselves,'how do we get there from here?' and
  3. The answer to the question,'how do we get there from here?', is that we must seek God by discovering and passing through the landmarks that define the path of holiness that takes us home to Him.

The kingdom of God within us has been damaged by sin. We can leave it in disrepair or rebuild it. On our own, however, we cannot succeed. We need help. Because God loves us, He is eager to supply us with all of the help we need. To rebuild the kingdom of God within us, God makes available to us a carpenter, His son, our King. He has his own construction tools and materials: the hammers, nails and wood of the Cross. They will be re-purposed. They will be used to repair the damage done by sin to the kingdom of God within us.

It is necessary, however, to get the carpenter-King to the work site. Jesus taught us that the work site is within us (Luke 17:20-21) (Matthew 6:33) (Mark 9:1). How do we bring the carpenter-King to the kingdom of God within us?

Only by passing through the landmarks that define the path of holiness that takes us home to Him, do we fetch the son of God, the carpenter-King, our personal savior, to the work site. Passing through the landmarks tells us that we are heading in the right direction. Passing through them moves us closer to God and eventually takes us across the threshold of the door of salvation opened by the passion, death, resurrection and ascension of the Son of God, our personal savior.

It is important to maintain the connection between us and God. We often sever the connection to our detriment. Our faith fails us and we loose sight of the fact that God is collaborating with us in building the kingdom of God within us. When we 'forget' that we are collaborating with God and the connection is lost, sin comes to play. When the connection is maintained, there is no room for sin. Therefore, maintaining the connection between us and God is not a part time job. It requires our attention 24/7. Our God become our life. How do we maintain the connection? We maintain the connection between us and God by passing through the landmarks that define the path of holiness that takes us home to Him. Thus, whenever the connection between us and God becomes "bad", it is time to pass through a landmark. This will re-establish the connection and shield the kingdom of God within you from any damage from sin.

It sounds hard but it is not. Maintaining the connection between you and God is not a burden. It is a blessing. Remember what Jesus taught us

And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17:20-21
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power. Mark 9:1

Always recall what Jesus said

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
(Matthew 11:28-30)

Never let anyone tell you otherwise.
